Three Michigan cities appear on the 2023 list

ATLANTA (March 27, 2023) – Flint, Michigan, comes in as the #1 city on Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s inaugural Top 10 Berry Best Strawberry Cities List. Detroit and Phoenix snag the second and third spots, respectively. Rounding out the top five spots are Las Vegas at #4 and Denver, ranking #5.

With students across the country gearing up to embark on spring break trips and enjoy the frosty, fruity drinks that come along with warmer weather, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is celebrating this beloved holiday by kicking off Strawberry Break, a celebration of all things strawberry happening March 29 – May 23. 

The list is based on sales data of cities where Tropical Smoothie Cafe has sold the most smoothies made with strawberries from February 1, 2022 – February 28, 2023.  

Over the course of 2023, Tropical Smoothie Cafe will use about 25 million pounds of strawberries – the equivalent of 625 semi-trucks loaded with strawberries.

Strawberry twists on classics will headline the Strawberry Break menu. Guests can gear up to party their berries off with the bright and refreshing flavors of the Strawberry Hibiscus Lemonade Smoothie, while the Strawberry Daquiri Smoothie – with pineapple, coconut and more – delivers a taste of summer.

What’s more, guests can indulge in a limited-time offer that’s sure to satisfy their sweet tooth – the Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie. This creamy treat is the perfect blend of strawberries, whole-grain oats, cinnamon, almonds, dates, chia seeds, banana and white chocolate. The Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie is only available by ordering in the app or online from 4/19 – 5/9.

The lunch menu will also see an update with the limited time addition of the Strawberry Balsamic Flatbread. This toasted flatbread is a mix of sweet and savory with ingredients including grilled chicken, strawberry balsamic poppy seed sauce, mozzarella, smashed avocado, spinach and tomatoes.
